The Colorado Chamber Players performed Faure, Bartok, Brouwer, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Haydn, Mozart, Weber and Bach during the 2014-15 season.

Masakazu Ito, Guitar
On 10/14/14, Masa Ito joined the CCP at Trinity Presbyterian Church, in guitar quintets by Leo Brouwer and Boccherini. Ito performed solo guitar works by Barrios and Torroba, and the CCP played excerpts from JS Bach’s Art of the Fugue.
Bartok Viola Concerto
Colorado Chamber Players Artistic Director performed Bartok’s virtuosic viola concerto with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra, on 10/11/14 at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge; and on 10/19/14 at Boettcher Hall.

Faure Piano Quartet
The CCP performed Gabriel Faure’s haunting Piano Quartet in c minor, op. 15, with pianist Andrew Cooperstock, at St. John’s Cathedral on 11/1 & 2/2014. Faure’s Requiem featured CCP musicians and the combined vocal forces of the Saint John’s Cathedral and Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church Choirs.

Testament: The Diary of Bella Berliner
This program highlighted World War II diary excerpts from Barbara Hamilton’s great grandmother Bella Berliner. With the assistance of the Dutch underground, 66-year old Bella hid in seven different hiding places in Utrecht, Rotterdam and Amsterdam during World War II, after the Nazi invasion of the Netherlands. She survived the war, and emigrated to the USA after five years of separation from her family. Actor Mare Trevathan read excerpts from Bella’s diary, accompanied by slides of the era and some of Bella’s favorite composers. Music included works by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Shostakovich, and occurred at Children’s Hospital on 1/6/15, at Boulder Library on 1/11/15 and at St. John’s Cathedral on 1/13/15.
Souvenir de Florence
Three performances of Brahms G major string sextet, op. 36 and Tchaikovsky Souvenir de Florence for string sextet, occurred at Children’s Hospital, Bethany Lutheran Church and Boulder Library. Channel 8 in Boulder videotaped the concert, and broadcast excerpts on Channel 8, reaching over 25,000 viewers. Guests Thomas Heinrich, cello and Matthew Dane, viola appeared.

Outreach for seniors and students occurred at the JCC, Westwood Community Center, Park Place, Heritage Club Mountain View, Chelsea Place, and Children’s Hospital. CCP students at Denver School of the Arts performed works by Vivaldi, Stone, Rossini, Dvorak, Brahms, Mozart, Telemann, Hoffman, Herlinger, Schubert, Ellington, Handel, and Chausson; and recorded at Colorado Public Radio.
