Andre Caplet's stunningly dramatic Conte Fantastique weaves together Edgar Allan Poe's short story Masque of the Red Death with swirling impressionist music, perfect for the Halloween season.  Caplet's work is scored for piano and string quartet, and the CCP has invited Curious Theatre actor Mare Trevathan to perform the Poe short story interspersed with Caplet's music.

The CCP and Curious Theatre will present four pre-show dramatic concerts in the 2010-2011 season at Mamie's, Curious Theatre's backstage space. All concerts will feature chamber music and live narration.

Other performances include:
November 14th, 12:45-1:30 p.m., Einstein's Mozart, with glorious string quartets of Mozart and poetry by Kate Light
February 13th, 2011, 1-1:45 p.m., Love for Three, with romantic music for clarinet, viola and piano by Max Bruch and Rebecca Clarke.
May 19th, 2011, 7-7:45 p.m., Pernambuco!, with a new work commissioned by the CCP for flute, viola, cello and harp, by Latin Grammy award winner Gabriela Lena Frank.
