Michiko Nakajima, Viola (Young Artist Fellowship Recipient Michiko Nakajima, Viola, recently completed her Music Performance Degree from the University of Denver Lamont School of Music, as a scholarship student of Basil Vendryes. Michiko Nakajima graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Performance. She was a recipient of the Chamber Music Award for two years, consecutively, and with different groups. Her past teachers include Jenny Rudin, Robert Bloch, Linda Ghidossi-Deluca, Barbara Hamilton-Primus, and Basil Vendryes. Prior to her musical studies, Michiko pursued a career working with animals. She practiced as a Certified Veterinary Technician in primarily the units of ER and ICU. She performed twice with the Colorado Chamber Players in spring and summer 2008. She is originally from the San Francisco Bay area.
