Stephen Tappe

Stephen Tappe holds a Bachelor of Music degree in composition with honors from the Hartt College of Music, a Master of Music degree in organ performance from the Yale School of Music and a Master of Art in Religion degree from the Yale Divinity School. He was appointed Organist and Director of Music at Saint John's Cathedral in Denver in 2004. Mr. Tappe has served a variety of churches and institutions including All Saints' Episcopal Church, Beverly Hills, CA, Harvard School for Boys, North Hollywood, CA, Trinity Episcopal Church, Asheville, NC, The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Jacksonville, FL, the American Boychoir, and Trinity Episcopal Church and the Tulsa Boy Singers in Tulsa, OK. He has served as Competition Adjudicator for the Florida International Boychoir Festival with Sir David Willcocks, as a Choral Clinician for the American Choral Directors Association, and as a manager and Music Director of annual summer Training Courses of the Royal School of Church Music in America for many years. He has choral works represented in the catalogues of several publishing houses.
Tappe performed with the CCP in 2009-2010 on the series of five Bach cantatas presented at St. John's Cathedral on November 29th, December 4th, 2009; January 31st, February 5th, and May 16th, 2010.
