Paul Primus,

Violin

Paul Primus is in his 26th year as Principal Second Violin with the Colorado Symphony. He has played as concertmaster with the Central City Opera Orchestra, and concertmaster with the Colorado Symphony. He was a member of the Chicago Ensemble for two seasons. Paul received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and also attended Indiana University School of Music. He is a founding member of The Colorado Chamber Players, and served as violin faculty at the Eastern Music Festival for eight years. Paul is currently on the faculty of the Lamont Pre-College Academy in Denver and is a frequent adjudicator for the Denver Young Artists’ Orchestra. Paul’s major teachers were Daniel Majeski, Laurence Shapiro, and Leonard Sorkin. Paul recently performed in Santa Fe at the Lensic Theatre with Jeffrey Kahane and members of the Colorado Symphony. He has recorded for the Centaur, RCA Victor, Decca, PollyRhythm and Raccoon Hollar labels.
