The Colorado Opera Troupe, accompanied by
The Colorado Chamber Players, presents Puccinis La Boheme
Sung in English, Elizabeth Schulze, Conductor
Love can happen anytime, anyplace - intense and quick. The simple lighting of a candle sets in motion events that profoundly change the lives of six Bohemians. The deep love shared by Mimi and Rodolfo inspires in us the hope to dream. The volatile and exciting love of Musetta and Marcello underlines the fragility of relationships. The fun-loving Schaunard and Colline surround these artistans affirming the value of friendship. They live for their art, for the moment, in the blissful hours of winter the lovers long for spring which brings the promise of lifebut not for Mimi

Peter Cooper, Principal Oboe, Colorado Symphony
Tamara Goldstein, Harpsichord with the Colorado Chamber Players
This seasons Museo program draws from mainly Latino composers, as they travelled in strange lands. Spaniard de Fallas last years were spent in Buenos Aires, in exile from Franco; Halffter took a similar journey from Spain to Mexico; Tedesco made Los Angeles his home after fleeing Italy; and finally, Italian Scarlattis most creative oeuvre was written in his adopted homeland of Spain.
