Swirling Colors: Music for Clarinet, Violin, Viola and Piano
December 13, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$10 – $15

The combination of clarinet, viola or violin and piano creates unusual, resonant overtones and many coloristic effects. The diverse instruments result in a beautiful, luminous sound palette. Khachaturian’s Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano connects the program to the Shostakovich Celebration, as Khachaturian was part of Shostakovich’s inner circle in Soviet Russia.
Program:
Max Bruch: Acht Stucke, op. 83, #1-4, Viola, Clarinet and Piano
W.A. Mozart Duo in Bb, K. 424, Violin and Viola
Darius Milhaud: Suite op. 157b for Violin, Clarinet and Piano
Aram Khachaturian: Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano
A dessert reception to meet and greet the artists follows the concert, and is included in the ticket price.
