Incessant Hum: Beethoven

December 16, 2021 by Barbara Hamilton

Colorado Chamber Players presents a world premiere of a music/theatre hybrid, with a script by Jeffrey Neuman, directed by Mare Trevathan.

Originally performed live in January 2020, this is a re-broadcast of a live performance at the Boulder Public Library, available online (video on demand) ONLY.

As the world celebrates the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven, we explore the emotional world that Beethoven experienced, as he lost his hearing and ability to perform as a pianist and conductor.

Two actors, Chris Kendall and Chelsea Frye, perform Neuman’s script, along with excerpts from late works by Beethoven.  Directed by Mare Trevathan. Tickets available in advance (click on link) through On The Stage.

Tickets are $5 (student/underemployed), $10 (individual) and $25 (family).

With Chris Kendall as Beethoven and Chelsea Frye as Elise, joined by Andrew Cooperstock (piano), Paul Primus and John Fadial (violin), Barbara Hamilton (viola), and Beth Vanderborgh (cello.
